The European Commission lists textile apparel as a priority product group under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). Its current indicative timeline plans adoption of the textile delegated act in Q4 2027. The Commission says the exact requirements and technical specifications will be defined later, and that timelines may change.
For each style, keep product specifications organized by SKU or model. This can include fibre composition, construction, care instructions, origin information and the supplier documents available for those details. Include the information you need suppliers to provide in RFQs, and agree how supporting documents will be checked.
The delegated act and its technical specifications are still pending. Treat this as early information-management preparation, not a final legal checklist or confirmation that any particular data field is already mandatory. Buyers should follow the Commission's updates before setting a compliance deadline or supplier requirement.
